Program description:
This program is concerned with financing joint research projects between a research team of faculty members or researchers at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University and faculty members or researchers from distinguished universities or international research institutions in the field of scientific research with high impact factor and that is indexed in the in the Web of Science database in the previous three years.
Objectives:
- Increase the impact factor of published research at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University.
- Encourage distinguished faculty members to join research groups to develop research outputs and high-quality scientific publishing.
- Develop scientific and technical research at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University through research partnerships with prestigious international research centers.
- Develop the research capabilities and skills of faculty members and researchers through exchanging experience and knowledge with their counterparts in international universities.
- Support the creation of research teams from faculty members, researchers, and graduate students.
- Encourage the exchange of scientific visits between Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University and reputable international universities.
- Increase the scientific publication rate of research outputs in international scientific journals with a high impact factor.
- Bring the world's leading experiences to carry out pioneering scientific projects.
Duration:
The project's duration is 24 months from the date of issue of the contract, and an additional period may be granted that does not exceed half the project duration, provided that the extension does not entail any additional financial entitlements.
Terms and Conditions
- The submitted research proposal or part of it should not have been previously supported by any party outside or inside the university.
- Priority will be given to researchers not associated with research projects currently supported by the Deanship of Scientific Research or with previously unsuccessful projects.
- The research team should not be less than three researchers, with the following additional requirements:
- Two research team members from the university's faculty and graduate students.
- The principal researcher is one of the university's faculty members.
- Participation of assistants and advisors from outside the university is allowed
- The co-researcher from outside the university should be distinguished and highly cited.
- The selection is made according to the research activity and citation index of the external researcher participating during the past three years, according to global databases (Web of Science and Scopus).
- All members of the research team must participate in each published research output of the group
- The percentage of citations in the research proposal should not exceed 25%.
- The funding sum for the research project shall not exceed 250000 riyals.
- In all proposed research, it is required that the first researcher and the only correspondent in all research papers be rom the research team.
- To finalize the research group and have the financial dues paid, the principal researcher must achieve 20 points and 15 points according to the following table:

This project was funded by the Deanship of Scientific Research at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University award number “……………..”
11. If the research project results in patents, inventions, discoveries, or products, the intellectual property will belong to the university and the research team of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University employees.
