Introduction
Given the importance of scientific research as one of the three main pillars of university, and its role in creating projects and developing competencies, Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University has made it part of its strategic vision for the future, by consistently stimulating distinguished scientific, with a view to encouraging researchers to target reputable journals and improving the university’s local and global ranking.
And in accordance with the vision and mission of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, which aims at encouraging research excellence and rewarding those who excel in it, and in order to achieve what was stated in Article Three of the Unified Regulations for Scientific Research in Saudi Universities that “researchers among faculty members and students are motivated to conduct original and innovative research.” »; the university’s Deanship of Scientific Research has deemed it necessary to establish the following rules to regulate support granted to the university’s employees including faculty members and researchers who have published high-quality research in international journals that are indexed in the first and second quarters the Web of Science database.
Program rules:
1. These rules apply to the employees of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, including researchers, faculty members, and the like in all disciplines.
2. The application for research support is submitted by only one researcher from the research team and, after approval, the responsibility for disbursement to the rest of the team members lies the principal investigator.
3. There is no financial benefit for a single research in more than one of the support programs offered by the university.
4. These rules apply as of the beginning of January 2023 to research published on 1/1/2023.
5. Support is granted only for research published in scientific journals indexed in the first and second quarters in the Web of Sciences Scopus databases.
6. support is disbursed according to the university's disbursement rules, and the university has the right to stop or suspend the support
7. The funding value is determined based on the following factors:
- Indexing of scientific journals in Web of Science and Scopus databases.
- The researcher applying to the program is the corresponding researcher for the published research.
- The research team consisted of both male and female sections at Prince Satam bin Abdulaziz University.
- Participating researchers who belong to Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University are 50% or more of the total number of researchers.
- Thanks to the university for its support, according to the following image:

8. The points due for the published research are determined according to the following table:

Total points accrued = points accrued in (a) + points accrued in (b) + points accrued in (c) + points accrued in (d) + points accrued in (e) + points accrued in (f)
10. The value of the due financial support is determined according to the total points due according to the following table:
