Applied Electromagnetics and Electronics Lab is one of the laboratories of the Research and Development Center at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University. The laboratory consists of 4 main sections:
The Manufacturing Lab is one of the laboratories of the Research and Development Center at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University. The Mechanical Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing Lab is an inseparable part of the Research and Development Center at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, where the lab combines advanced technology and engineering expertise to offer innovative solutions in the fields of mechanical engineering and manufacturing. The lab includes a variety of modern devices, such as:
- Axis CNC Milling Machine: This machine allows for the high-precision manufacturing of parts through computer numerical control, contributing to the rapid and efficient development of prototypes and custom parts.
- CNC Laser Machine for Sheet Metal Cutting: This machine provides precise cutting capabilities for sheet metal, enabling the production of complex and accurate designs to meet the diverse needs of research projects.
- Manual Lathe Machine: Manual lathing is essential for manufacturing circular-shaped objects, allowing for the flexible and precise crafting and modification of workpieces.
- The Manufacturing Lab supports research and development by providing manufacturing capabilities.
- 3D printer FDM : It is an additive manufacturing technique that involves extruding materials through a nozzle and combining them to produce three-dimensional shapes. These printers use polymers like PLA, PETG which are transferred as filaments through a hot nozzle
- Robotics and Drones laboratory :
The Mechanical Laboratory is one of the laboratories of the Research and Development Center at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University.
The laboratory consists of two main sections:
- The first section of this center specializes in unmanned ground vehicles and includes studying and designing unmanned ground vehicles through the latest 2D and 3D design programs, manufacturing parts, Finally, the pre-testing.
- The second section, Drones, consists of vehicles and 3D printers FDM. This part consists of studying and designing the chassis and other parts of the drone and printing the parts using 3D printers. It also consists of selected avionics and sensors. Finally, pre-flight testing and automation programs.
