Program definition:
Promising research groups are concerned with the joint research work of a number of researchers from diverse and integrated specializations, with research capabilities and expertise that ensure quality and productivity, as well as emerging researchers and graduate students (to provide them with research skills and experience) in order to conduct distinguished research that is are of benefit to society.
Objectives:
- Support distinguished research work among the integrated disciplines.
- Enhance the joint research work of new researchers
- Improve the capabilities of new researchers and graduate students, and direct their research interests to serve sustainable development.
- Find solutions to many of the problems facing society that require collective action and concerted efforts.
Duration:
18 months from the date of issue of the contract, with the possibility of grating an additional period that does not exceed half the project period for completion, provided that the extension does not entail any additional financial dues after providing the statutory justifications and justifications for the extension.
Terms and conditions:
1. The name of the research group should be related to the research group’s objectives.
2. Priority is given researchers who are not associated with research projects currently supported by the Deanship of Scientific Research or with previously failed projects.
3. The number of the research group members should not be less than three members (from faculty members and graduate students).
4. Distinguished researchers from outside the university may participate, provided that the research leadership is given to a faculty member who is from within the university.
5. The percentage of citation in the research proposal should not exceed 25%
6. Each member of the research team must participate in at least half of the number of published papers
7. Selection is based on the principal researcher’s activity during the past three years within the Web of Science database.
8. The financing sum shall not exceed 110.000 riyals
9. The second party undertakes to achieve 20 points according to the following table for publishing scientific papers in scientific journals with impact factor and indexed in the Web of Science database
10. In all proposed research, it is required that the first researcher and the only correspondent in all researches be from the research team affiliated with Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University.
11. The research team should acknowledge the Deanship’s support as follows:
“This project was funded by the Deanship of Scientific Research at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University award number “……………..”
12. If the research project results in patents, inventions, discoveries or products, the intellectual property shall belong to the University and the research team of from Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University.
